RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk sits 1-2 on the year after slipping to Bridgewater State in a non-conference contest, 6-3, Thursday. The Rams are unbeaten in CCC action though after defeating Curry, 7-2, in their league debut last Saturday.

Hasan Esrawi (0-3) has played exclusively as the blue-and-gold's ace this season. Suffolk's singles has been the most successful in the singles spot which has been held down by Dylan Katz (2-1). Matthew Gallego is undefeated in singles play as well as he debuted with a victory over the Bears in the sixth position.

Doubles wise, the senior twosome of Ben Bricker and Haik Semerdjian boast a 2-0 record on court three. Esrawi and Diego Hernandez-Pons make-up the Rams top tandem (1-2).

GOLDEN BEARS GLANCE
Saturday's matchup at Volvo Outdoor Tennis Courts will be Western New England's first home bout of the season, following their five-game spring trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, where the team went 3-2. In fall action, several Golden Bears competed as individuals in the ITA Fall Regionals.

Leading the way with an 11-2 ledger in first court singles play is David Kalmer, who has come out on top in his last six contests. Justin Kohut (12-1, court No. 3 & 4) and Griffin Arnold are right on Kalmer's heels.

Every member of the squad, who has competed in singles play this season, has won at least their last match heading into their home-opener.

In doubles action, Kalmer and Kohut, the court one duo, has produced a 9-4 record. The tandem of Hippolyte Bonnet and Luke Surawski sit at 10-3 with action coming solely on the second slot.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Saturday's match will be the first in series history between Suffolk and Western New England.

LEOPARDS LOWDOWN
Wentworth enters Sunday's contest at 2-4 on the season, with action spanning back to October 1. Prior to playing Suffolk Sunday, the Leopards will battle Salve Regina Saturday, April 2.

In singles action, Kevin Saloman, who has seen action in both the first and second spot, leads the way at 3-1. Daniel Gallegos has started in all six contests in the Leopards' season and has posted a 3-2 record in singles play, good for a share of the squad's second-best record with Sam Ferro.

Harrison Maki and Pranava Marwaha have partnered to be WIT's most successful doubles team with a 2-2 mark all at No. 2. Daniel Gallegos and Saloman (1-4) have played the bulk of the time as the Leopards' top tandem.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Rams will face Wentworth for the first time since their 2019 season opener, March 21, 2019.
  • Suffolk is 8-2 against Leopards according to the Rams' record books, which date back to the 2009 campaign.
  • The blue-and-gold look to snap a two-game skid against WIT and take down the Leopards for the first time since March 25, 2015 when the Rams grabbed a 5-4 thriller.

WHAT'S AHEAD?
Suffolk is set to continue CCC play in its home opener on Saturday, October 9 at a time and location to be announced.
