Men's Tennis Captures a 6-3 Victory Over the Vikings

The Suffolk University Men's Tennis team traveled to Salem State University on Tuesday afternoon to earn their fourth win of the season 6-3. The Rams are now 4-1 overall.

Suffolk was victorious in four of six singles matches with sophomore Calixto Romero (Lima, Peru) starting it off with a victory in the number one singles spot winning 6-3 and 6-1 respectively. Romero and doubles partner Drew Reilly (Boston, Mass.) picked up an 8-1 win in the number one doubles spot.

Senior Vassilli Stroganov (Heorsholm, Germany) took the number three singles match for the Rams taking the first set 6-2 and the second set 6-4. Vassilli partnered up with freshman Francesco Saia (Wakefield, Mass.) in doubles action to get the Rams a second doubles win on the afternoon with 8-8 and 10-4 scores.

Saia and senior German Krohn (Olavarria, Argentina) rounded out the field and earned the Rams the other two singles victories on the afternoon in the fourth and fifth spots. Saia taking it to three sets with 2-6 loss and 6-4 victories in the last two sets. Krohn took it to three sets as well with a loss in the first set 3-6 and winning the last two set 6-2.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday traveling to Bridgewater State in a non-conference matchup at 3:30 pm.
