BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer has been waiting all season to avenge its 2022 CCC Championship loss and the Rams get their chance in the regular-season finale Tuesday, Oct. 24 when they visit Roger Williams for a 7 p.m. tilt.

In a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest that rained from start to finish, Suffolk men's soccer slipped to Gordon, 2-1, Saturday at East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk currently sits in third place in the CCC standings with a 4-2-1 league ledger behind Roger Williams (4-1-2) and Western New England (5-1-2). Overall, the Rams are 9-5-2 on the year. 

Brady Sorensen, who has recorded a point in the last five games, tops the team with 16 points behind a squad-best seven goals and two assists. Diego Pierantozzi is second on the squad with 13 points with six goals and one helper. Matthew Belluardo (5g, 1a) and Francisco Valck (3g, 5a) round out the top three with 11 points apiece. 

Xander Balog, who has played seven games this season in net, has started the last three. He holds a 1.00 GAA and .731 save percentage with a 4-2-1 record and three shutouts. Nathan Harlow, meanwhile, has played nine games in goal. He brings in a 1.22 GAA and .771 save percentage with a 5-3-1 mark and a pair of cleansheets. 

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HAWKS
Roger Williams (6-4-7, 4-1-2 CCC) is unbeaten through its last four games and over that stretch the Hawks have allowed just one goal.  

Liam Blaisdell has powered RWU's offense with 16 points, all off goals. Dylan Thomas (3g, 2) and CJ Sousa (3g, 1a) are scoring threats as well. 

Hogan Caign (11 GP, 9 GS, 0.63 GAA, .864 save %) and Jack Avellar (8 GP, 8 GS, 1.55 GAA, .633 save %) have split time in net for the Hawks this year. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has yet to find the win column against Roger Williams. 
  • The Rams are 0-4-0 all-time against the Hawks in a series that started in 1990. 
  • The Rams have managed to find the back of the net just once all-time against RWU, in the 2022 CCC Championship, a 2-1 loss to the Hawks, Nov. 5, 2022.
