Men’s Soccer’s Streak Ends at Boston College, 2-0

NEWTON, Mass. – Suffolk men's soccer saw its longest win streak in over 16 years come to an end Monday night as the Rams were tripped up in a Beantown battle by Boston College, 2-0, at the Newton Soccer Complex.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Boston College 2
RECORDS: Suffolk (7-3-1) | Boston College (3-4-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jonathan Murphy scored with help from a Suffolk defenders' deflection to give the Eagles a one-goal edge 16:12 into the contest.

Nathan Harlow had a highlight reel; diving save on a great opportunity by BC's Diego Ochoa at the 27:46 mark to keep the distance at one.

A big shot outside the box from Augustine Boadi increased the Eagles lead to two-nil with 7:16 remaining in the first half.

Harlow turned aside all three shots he faced in the second stanza to limit Boston College's offense to the pair of first half tallies.

Suffolk's offense was kept off the scoreboard though as the Eagles defense did not allow the Rams to put a mark on target all night.

  • Brennan Klein registered the win for the Eagles.
