BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer pulls the curtain back on its 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference calendar Friday, Sept. 15 when Wentworth stops by James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park for a 4 p.m. clash.

Suffolk men's soccer fell to Framingham State, 2-1, Tuesday night at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

SUFFOLK SCORES

SUFFOLK IN CCC DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 1-0-1 in its first CCC game of the season. 
  • The Rams defeated Gordon, 1-0, in its first CCC outing in 2021. 
  • A year ago, the Rams played Nichols to a 1-1 draw. 
  • Suffolk is undefeated, 1-0, when playing its first CCC contest of a campaign at home. 
  • On the road, the Rams sport a 0-0-1 league-opener ledger. 
  • The blue-and-gold will face Wentworth in its first CCC game of the year for the first time. 
  • One CCC opener in the Rams record book has been decided via shutout, Suffolk's inaugural CCC tilt, a 1-0 victory over Gordon, in 2021.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk dipped to 2-2-1 on the year after falling in back-to-back bouts: a 3-1 setback at Emerson and a 2-1 loss to Framingham State.  

Despite the two straight losses, Suffolk's offense has yet to be shutout this season with six goals off of five different boots. Matthew Belluardo has potted a pair of goals to lead the way with Diego PierantozziBrady SorensenCarter Van Buskirk and Erik Van Even with one strike apiece. Miguel Varela has a knack for setting-up Suffolk's scorers with a team-best two helpers on his stat line.  

Xander Balog and Nathan Harlow have split time in net. Balog boasts a 1-1-1 record through three games with a 1.33 GAA and .667 save percentage. Harlow, meanwhile, brings in a 1.00 GAA and .833 save percentage for a 1-1 mark over two outings. 

LEOPARDS LOOK
Similar to Suffolk, Wentworth is on a two-game skid with setbacks at Bridgewater State (5-1) and Emerson (2-0) preceding Friday afternoon's action.  

Offensively, the Leopards are led by Jacob Dukeshire's four goals with Christopher Jimenez supplying two goals and two assists to the seven-goal output. 

Noah Lawless has started all, but one game for WIT in net. He holds a 2.25 GAA and .763 save percentage with one shutout. Liam Nasr (2.00 GAA, .600 save %) has one game under his belt in goal. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk trails Wentworth in the all-time series that dates back to 1989, 5-7-2. 
  • The Rams snapped a four-game skid against the Leopards a year ago with a 4-0 victory. 
  • Suffolk is 2-3-1 versus Wentworth when serving as the home team and 3-4-1 when playing the Leopards as the away team. 
  • The Leopards have outscored the Rams, 30-24, including a 12-8 margin in the last five games. 
  • Six games have been decided in shutout fashion. Suffolk is 3-3 in cleansheets against WIT. 
  • As CCC counterparts, Suffolk is 1-2-0 against Wentworth. 
  • The Rams are 1-2-0 versus WIT with Bill Maddock as the coach.
