UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-REGION TEAMS

BOSTON – Brady Sorensen of the Suffolk men's soccer team was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region I second-team for the 2022 season, the national organization unveiled Tuesday.

Sorensen earned an all-region accolade for the first time in his collegiate career. He is the second Ram to receive the recognition in as many seasons as Nigel Leo picked up the feat a year ago.

The junior forward from Plymouth, Massachusetts, was instrumental to Suffolk's success this season that featured a CCC Championship contest run as the tournament's fourth seed. He was crucial in the postseason. First in the quarterfinals he provided three points, one on each of the Rams three goals, to help Suffolk prevail past Salve Regina in a double overtime shootout. In the semis, he found the back of the net at then-No. 23 Endicott to send the blue-and-gold to the CCC finals for the first time in program history. Throughout the season, Sorensen proved to be a scoring sensation as he led the team in points with 15 behind a team-best six strikes and three helpers. Of his six tallies, two where good for the game-winner, including a 1-0 decision at Lasell Sept. 21 and a 4-0 shutout of CCC counterpart Wentworth Oct. 11.

Sorensen is one of 11 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) student-athletes to garner the distinction this season with players from Endicott (3), Gordon (1), Roger Williams (3), Salve Regina (2) and Western New England (1).
