Men’s Soccer Tabbed United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award Recipient

2021-22 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffolk men's soccer received recognition for its academic accolades over the 2021-22 year with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the national organization announced. 

The Rams received the nod for the third straight year and sixth time in the history of the award, which has been handed out to programs who achieve a 3.0 combined grade point average on a 4.0 scale since 1996. 

Overall, 789 college teams – 297 men, 497 women -- across all three NCAA divisions earned the recognition, including 148 institutions who saw both their men's and women's programs acknowledge, one of who was Suffolk. The Rams were the lone Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) institutions to have both programs, men's and women's, to receive the distinction. 

Bill Maddock's team, who combined for a 3.275 GPA over 2021-22, was one of four CCC programs to pick up the feat including Curry, Salve Regina and Wentworth. The blue-and-gold's GPA was the second-best among the quartet of CCC programs on the list behind the Seahawks 3.43.
