BOSTON – The Suffolk men's soccer team concludes its 2021 regular-season home schedule Saturday, Oct. 23 with a clash against Curry as part of the sixth annual Rams Fan Fest at East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium. Prior to the 4 p.m. first kick, the Rams will honor the playing careers of the members of the Suffolk's Classes of 2021 and 2022.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

#RAMSFANFEST
After a year hiatus, Suffolk Athletics is excited to welcome back all members of Ram Nation to East Boston Memorial Park Saturday, Oct. 23 for Rams Fan Fest. 

The sixth event is part of Suffolk Weekend, which combines two annual celebrations – Alumni Weekend and Family Weekend. These events bring the entire University community together and allows members of the Suffolk community and their families to reconnect or get acclimated with Suffolk. RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk heads into Saturday 7-7-1 overall and 3-4-0 in CCC action.  

Graduate student Nigel Leo has powered the Rams' 26-goal offense with nine markers himself and a pair of setups for 20 points. Sophomore Brady Sorensen is second on the squad with 13 points behind five goals and three helpers. Miguel Varela has also found the back of the net five times and the freshman has aided two shots. Varela's classmate Erik Van Even rounds out the quartet with double-digit points with 11 on four strikes and a trio of handouts. 

In net, Xander Balog has seen the most action of Suffolk's three netminders with action under their belts. The freshman keeper brings in a 1.99 GAA and .686 save percentage in eight appearances, all starts. Tom Bennett (1.88 GAA, .667 save%) and Alfredo Serrano Figueroa (0.87 GAA, .750 save%) have defended the blue-and-gold's net multiple times as well.

CATCH UP ON THE COLONELS
Curry sits 9-4-3 on the year with a 4-2-1 league ledger.  

Four different players have surpassed the double-digit point plateau. Giovanni Martins' 14 points lead the way behind a squad-best six goals and two assists. Lucas Drons (5g, 1a) and Richard Silva (4g, 3a) each have 11 points and Ryan Brady rounds out the foursome with four markers and two helpers. 

Kyle Tremblay has played nearly every game in goal for the Colonels. He boasts a 1.54 GAA and .704 save percentage with an 8-4-3 record and three shutouts. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk looks for its first win over the Colonels since defeating Curry 3-2 Oct. 11, 2004.
