Men's Soccer Draw Even With Mount Ida 2-2

The Suffolk University Men's Soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with the Mount Ida College Mustangs in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Alberto Bittan (Caracas, Venezuela) and sophomore Ben Daniels (Nantucket, Mass.) scored goals for Suffolk who move to a 4-6-1 overall record on the season and 2-2-1 mark in GNAC play.

Trailing 1-0, Daniels scored his third goal of the season when he drilled home a shot from the thirty yard line.

Bittan would tally his team leading sixth goal of the season six minutes later when he took a feed from senior Juan Lazcano Bello(Madrid, Spain).

The lead would last only five minutes when the Mustangs' Michael Templeton scored his second goal of the contest in the twenty fourth minute mark to even things at two goals.

Junior Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) made nine saves in goal for Suffolk including three in the two overtime periods.

Mount Ida held a 21-12 edge in shots in the contest.

Suffolk will now be back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Anna Maria College in GNAC action at 4:00pm.
