A late-game surge by the Emerson Men's Soccer Team made the difference Saturday afternoon as the Lions took a 2-1 win from the Suffolk Rams. The win improves the Lions to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in GNAC play while the Rams drop to 6-4-1 on the year and 3-3-1 in conference action.

The first half saw the Rams defense step up huge, as freshman Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) put up seven saves in the first 45 minutes of action. While the Lions outshot Suffolk 10 to 5 in the half, the Rams made them count more, striking first in the game with a goal in the 39^th minute with a breakaway setting up senior Ben Rollins (Lee, N.H. to give Suffolk a 1-0 lead headed into the break.

The second half saw the pendulum swing on shot totals though with the Rams taking 11 to EC's 8. Carter Bowers had five saves in the half to shut out the Rams and give the Lion offense a chance. While the Rams defense looked stalwart at the start, EC finally wore them down as Jon Haven's put up a pass in the 76^th minute for Juan Ossa to pocket in the bottom right corner to knot it up.

With the match knotted at 1-1, the game started to get a bit chippy as 19 fouls were accumulated by both squads in the half with Suffolk also receiving a the sole yellow card in the match at 85:05. The Lions also added in the difference maker in the 85^th minute as Adam Halliday set up Jacob Lawrence for his third goal of the year.

Suffolk will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon as they travel to Elms College at 4:00pm.
