Luis Flores Scores Two Goals as Men's Soccer Top Eastern Naz 4-1

Quincy, Mass. – Senior Luis Flores (Madrid, Spain) scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the Suffolk University Men’s Soccer team to a 4-1 victory in the 2010 season opener over Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday afternoon.

Flores scored the game’ first goal in the 49th minute on a penalty kick giving the Rams a 1-0 lead in the second half. Eight minutes later freshman Nicholas DiCicco (Wethersfield, Conn.) scored the Rams’ second goal on a pass from Flores.

Flores scored his second goal of the game in the game’s 62nd minute beating Lions goalkeeper Andrew Tice to his right on a shot that dribbled in the net.

Suffolk would make it 4-0 in with three minutes remaining as freshman Christian Zambrano (Madrid, Spain) connected on a header on a cross pass from sophomore Max Rater (Cambridge, Mass.).

Eastern Nazarene College scored their lone goal of the game with over a minute remaining as Josh Kaplan converted on a penalty kick.

Suffolk senior goalkeeper Jack DeJesus (Swampscott, Mass.) made four saves in the victory for the Rams.

The Rams will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon as they take on UMass-Boston at 3:30pm.
