The Suffolk University Men's Soccer team tallied its first goal at home this season, but it was not enough as Daniel Webster College, 3-3 overall,  pulled out a 2-1 win at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, Massachusetts on Wednesday.

With Suffolk 1-5 overall, trailing 1-0 late in the first half, Christian Palacios (Lexington, MA) used a nice move to put the ball past Daniel Webster goalkeeper Joe Keene and tie the game at 1-1 in the 36th minute. Stephen Gaudet (Peabody, MA) was credited with an assist on the play. The goal from Palacios, a senior, snapped a 216-minute scoreless streak at home this season and it appeared as if the momentum had shifted in favor of the Rams.

However, in the 44th minute, Michael Lohr was able to steal the ball from Suffolk freshman goalkeeper Nick Woodhull (Honolulu, HI) and rip it into the net to give his Eagles a 2-1 lead for good.

The Lohr goal was eerily similar to DWC's Alex Jackson's goal in the 25th minute. Jackson was also able to steal the ball from Woodhull and score to give Daniel Webster a 1-0 lead.

Daniel Webster headed into the second half with all the momentum and stifled the Rams offensive attack in the process. Suffolk generated just four shots on goal in the second half after 10 shots on goal in the first half.

Junior goalkeeper Alex Capousis (Annapolis, MD) was a bright spot in the second half as he made four big saves in 45 minutes in relief of the starter Woodhull who had two saves in the first half.

Daniel Webster out shot the Rams 17-14 in the game. Keene made three saves for the Eagles on the afternoon.

Suffolk will head to Maine to take on Saint Joseph's in a GNAC match on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. where it will look to grab its second win of the season.
