Men’s Hockey Closes Season with 3-1 Setback at No. 9 Curry

BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey regular season finale was spoiled as No. 9 Curry scored three unanswered goals in the first 13 minutes of play to hand the Rams a 3-1 Commonwealth Coast Conference defeat Friday night at Canton Ice House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The scoring started 2:26 into the action as Grady Friedman lit the lamp for Curry and just over 10 minutes later Suffolk faced a 3-0 deficit.  

The Rams eliminated the shutout with one second remaining in regulation when Ryan Webb potted a power play puck at the 19:59 mark for the 3-1 final. 

NETMINDER NOTES

  • CJ Hapward put together a 23-save effort. 
  • Shane Soderwall took the decision for the Colonels after stopping all 18 shots he faced. 
  • Oscar Wahlgren denied the four shots on target during his 22:16 in net.
  • Roland Polasekk allowed the Rams lone goal of the night and had three saves to his credit. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Webb scored the only Suffolk goal. 
  • Alex Pratt and Samuel Rand had one assist each.  
  • Both teams had 26 shots. 
  • Each team put away a power play goal. The Rams went 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Colonels went 1-for-4.
