Salve Regina Stumps Men’s Hockey

EAST BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey suffered an 8-3 Commonwealth Coast Conference setback to Salve Regina Saturday afternoon at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink

SCORE: Suffolk 3 | Salve Regina 8
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-3-0, 0-2-0 CCC) | Salve Regina (4-0-0, 2-0-0 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Devin Lowe
got the scoring going 1:20 into the action. The graduate student captain used a long feed from Nick Liotino and snipped the puck past Seahawks netminder Selby Warren to give the Rams a one-goal edge. Thomas Dempsey had a stick on the goal as well.

Salve Regina leveled the playing field four minutes later when Aiden Coupe found the back of net for the first time on the afternoon. Five minutes later Coupe would score again to push the visitors in front, 2-1, a score that stayed at the first intermission.

The Seahawks poured in six unanswered in the second period to make things lopsided, 8-1.

Suffolk held Salve Regina scoreless in the third and managed to tuck two goals of its own way, but it wouldn't be enough to complete the back.

Ryan Webb cut off a Salve Regina pass in the Seahawks' zone 2:48 into the third and converted it into Suffolk's second goal of the day.

Will MacNeil etched his name on the scoresheet at the 13:20 mark with help from Kyle Valiquette and Thomas Dempsey to cut the gap down to a handful, 8-3.
