  • Lowe Named Joe Concannon Semifinalist

    Graduate student captain Devin Lowe of the Suffolk men’s hockey team has been selected as a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award, given annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England at the NCAA Division II/III level, Gridiron of Greater Boston President Tim Whelan, Jr., announced Thursday morning. Lowe is one of 38 of the top hockey players across two divisions in New England collegiate hockey and highlights the early hopefuls of the 23rd annual honor.

    Suffolk men’s hockey took the lead and held onto it until the final 30 seconds before Connecticut College tied things up and forced overtime where neither team scored to have the second semifinal contest of the 58th Codfish Bowl end in a 1-1 draw. The Camels won the shootout, 3-2, to earn a spot in the Codfish Bowl Championship.

    Suffolk men’s hockey travels across town this weekend to get the New Year underway at the 58th Codfish Bowl. The Rams open the tournament Friday, Jan. 5 versus Connecticut College at 4 p.m. and will face either Worcester State or the tournament host UMass Boston Saturday, Jan. 6.
