EAST BOSTON – No. 6 Curry broke a 1-all, first period tie with four unanswered goals, two in the second and third, respectively, to take down Suffolk men's hockey, 5-1, on the Rams' Senior Night Friday at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink

HOW IT HPPANED
Gage Dill set-up Matt Connor 3:15 into the action to put the Colonels on the board early. Kyle Valiquette leveled the playing field 4:28 later when he converted Cole Scott's pass into the game-tying goal. PJ Donahue helped set-up Suffolk's score in the Rams' defensive end.  

With things deadlocked at 1-1 at the first intermission, Curry capitalized on a pair of power plays over a 1:37-span in the middle period to put the Rams in a 3-1 hole. George Vonakis found the back of the net on the man-up opportunity first, while Dill strike second.  

Vonakis recorded his second marker of the day with 2:12 removed from the third period to extend the edge to three and just over second minutes Dill recorded his third point of the outing with an assist on Mark Zhukov's goal for the final 5-1 margin.  

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Cal Wilcox logged 37 saves in the setback.
  • Reid Cooper registered 30 stops in the decision. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Valiquette tallied Suffolk's only goal. 
  • Scott and Donahue each dished out one assist. 
  • Curry outshot Suffolk, 42-31. 
  • The Colonels won the face off battle as well, 33-29.
