Déjà vu: Men’s Hockey Downs Wentworth in Overtime Again, 2-1

EVERETT, Mass. – Less than 24 hours after the Rams took down the Leopards in overtime, 2-1, at Porrazzo Rink, Suffolk men's hockey did it again as Ryan Webb's goal at 2:54 in the extra session Saturday afternoon lifted the blue-and-gold to the Commonwealth Coast Conference victory by an identical score at Allied Veterans Memorial Rink.

Webb, who aided in the Rams game-winner the night before, factored into both of Suffolk's goals Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk opened the scoring at the 14:21 mark of the opening period when Webb sent a breakout pass to Cole Scott, who went in on an odd-man rush with Max Rand, who beat Jack McGovern.

Down 1-0, the Leopards leveled the playing field at the 8:27 mark when Nolan Lowe scored with help from Jacob Shanaker and George Weiner.

Suffolk saw a chance to take the lead on a 5-on-3 power play, but Phil Decresce's attempt hit the post and things stayed locked at 1-all at the second intermission

Both teams saw chances in the third to take the advantage, but each netminder took care of business to keep things even at one.

Wentworth was whistled for a penalty with 39 seconds left in regulation. Suffolk aimed to capitalize with a skater-up, but blocks from Josh Faussett and Sam Milnes helped send the game into overtime for the second time in as many games.

The Leopards successfully skated off the penalty, however, WIT was called for another penalty at the 2:19 into the extra session that gave the Rams an advantage once again.

This time, the blue-and-gold used the man-up opportunity to its advantage. Webb netted the game-winner on a one-time after Peter Nugent and Samuel Rand set him up at the 2:54 mark.
