Men’s Hockey Drops 4-2 Decision to UNE

EAST BOSTON – Tyler Borys and Cole Scott netted their first collegiate goals, but it would not be enough to send the Rams past the Nor'Easters as Suffolk men's hockey fell to the University of New England, 4-2, Saturday in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2 | University of New England 4
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-7-1, 1-7-0 CCC) | University of New England (6-3-0, 6-2-0 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Scott lit the lamp first as the freshman's one-timer from the inside of the right face-off dot put the Rams on the board 3:44 into the contest. Ryan Harrigan set-up the game-opening goal.

The Nor'Easters potted two answered goals to send Suffolk into the locker room down, 2-1. Garrett Devine leveled the playing field with his power play goal two minutes after Scott found the back of the net. Ryan Kuzmich, meanwhile, pushed the visitors in front at the 12:08 mark when he converted a pass from Will Spitzer on a 2-on-1 breakaway.

UNE extended its advantage to 4-1 within the first nine minutes of the second period. Mike Tersoni scored with help from Jake Fuss 3:04 out of the locker room and Daniel Winslow put away a power play goal at the 8:38 minute mark.

Borys sliced the margin down to a pair at the 16:47 mark when he scooped up the rebound on Devin Lowe's breakaway shot, that Borys helped set-up. The rookie's first collegiate marker made it a 4-2 game, which stayed at the second intermission.

The score stood there for the remainder of regulation as both netminders handled every shot they faced in the third period.
