BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey has a full weekend of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contests with a home-and-home series against the University of New England on tap. The Rams will first make the trip to Biddeford, Maine, Friday, Dec. 2 for a 7 p.m. puck drop before welcoming the Nor'Easters to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink Saturday, Dec. 3 for a 4:50 p.m. rematch.

LAST TIME OUT
Down 3-2 with the end of regulation looming, Griffin Clark struck the equalizer with 1:33 left in regulation to boost Suffolk men's hockey to a 3-3 draw with UMass Dartmouth Tuesday night at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
After its 3-3 draw with UMass Dartmouth, Suffolk moved to 1-5-1 on the season. In CCC action, the Rams sit 1-5-0 overall.  

Max Rand and Ryan Webb power the blue-and-gold's 14-goal offense with five points apiece behind identical two-goal, three-assist stat lines. Ryan Harrigan owns two goals and two assists with Griffin Clark in the offensive output conversation as well with two goals and one helper.  

Cal Wilcox has taken on the bulk of the work in net. In seven games, all starts, he has built a 3.58 GAA and .894 save percentage. 

NOR'EASTER NOTES
UNE owns a 4-3-0 overall record and 4-2-0 CCC ledger. The Nor'Easters look to bounce back from a 6-2 setback to then-No. 11 Stevenson.  

Daniel Winslow has racked up 11 points on a team-best seven goals and four assists to pace UNE's 30-goal offense. Jake Fuss (2g, 6a), Collin Heinold (5g, 2a), Alex Sheehy (1g, 6a) and Ryan Kuzmich (1g, 6a) have factored into the Nor'Easters scoring as well this year.  

Billy Girard IV has played every game in between the pipes for UNE. Over seven games he has assembled a 2.99 GAA and .913 save percentage. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, UNE series started in 2011-12. 
  • The Rams are 1-7-1 all-time against the Nor'Easters. 
  • Suffolk is 1-3-1 when hosting UNE. 
  • The Rams have yet to defeat the Nor'Easters in Biddeford, Maine (0-4-0). 
  • Two games between Suffolk and UNE have gone into overtime. The last was Nov. 20, 2021, which ended 3-2 in favor of UNE.
