BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey steps out of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Tuesday, Nov. 22 when it welcomes UMass Dartmouth to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference pre-Thanksgiving clash.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's hockey lit the lamp first, but could not keep up with No. 13 Endicott the over the second and third periods, respectively, as the Gulls got past the Rams, 6-1, Saturday in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
No. 13 Endicott swept Suffolk in a home-and-home series over the weekend to dip to 1-5-0 on the year. 

Through its first six games of the year, the Rams have potted 11 goals with 15 different players producing one point. Max Rand and Ryan Webb lead the blue-and-gold's offense with identical two-goal, two-assist stat lines. PJ Donahue (2a), Ryan Harrigan (1g, 1a), Nick Lachaine (1g, 1a), Devin Lowe (2a), Peter Nugent (1g, 1a), Kevin Ouellette (2g) and Kyle Valiquette (2a) have all chipped in two points apiece to Suffolk's scoring. 

Cal Wilcox has played the bulk of time in net for the blue-and-gold. The senior has started all six games and has assembled a 3.73 GAA and .892 save percentage. Wilcox's classmate Jarret Bovarnick (.846 save percentage) saw his first action of the season over the weekend.

CORSAIRS CATCHUP
UMass Dartmouth sits 3-3-1 on the year and is unbeaten in its last two games, a 3-3 draw with Fitchburg State and a 5-2 triumph over Salem State. 

The Corsairs' 23-goal offense is powered by the quartet of Michael Mania (5g, 1a), Sky Silverstein (1g, 5a), Justin Weinbrenner (3g, 2a) and Jake Maynard (1g, 4a).

Daniel Davidson has started all seven games in between the pipes for UMD. He brings a 3.11 GAA and .918 save percentage.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is 7-32-0 all-time against UMass Dartmouth.
  • The Rams fell to the Corsairs, 5-4, in the last meeting, Nov. 28, 2021.

Suffolk returns to its CCC home-and-home weekend calendar Dec. 2-3 when it battles against the University of New England. The Rams trek to Biddeford, Maine Friday for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop, before hosting the Nor'Easters Saturday at 4:50 p.m.
