No. 11 UNE Too Much for Men’s Hockey

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk men's hockey may have scored first, but it would not be enough as No. 11 University of New England handled the Rams, 8-2, Friday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play at Harold Alfond Forum.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2 | No. 11 University of New England 8
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-11-4, 5-9-4 CCC) | No. 11 University of New England (14-3-1, 13-3-1 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk struck first as Alex Kolowrat scored 2:49 into the action with help from Devin Lowe and PJ Donahue. The Rams hung onto that lead until the Nor'Easters leveled the playing field at the midway point. The 1-1 tie rolled into the first intermission.

It was all UNE in the second stanza as the host poured in three answered goals to make things lopsided 4-1 as the teams headed to the locker room for the second time.

Both teams potted a power play puck in the third. Griffin Clark responded for the Rams to keep it a three-goal game with 12:58 remaining in the final frame. It was all UNE from there though as the Nor'Easters would score three consecutive goals for the 8-2 final.
