BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey looks to wrap up first semester play on a high-note as the Rams entertain Western New England at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink Friday, Dec. 10. The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) clash is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's hockey could not complete the comeback as Salve Regina snuck past the Rams, 4-3, Saturday night at St. George's Rink.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has been setback in its last six outings to dip to 1-7-2 on the season and 1-5-2 in CCC contests.  

Devin Lowe and Billy Roche power the Rams' 27-goal offense with 12 points apiece. Lowe has an evenly divided state line of a team-best six goals to go along with the second-most set-ups (6). Roche, meanwhile has a squad-high nine handouts and three markers to his credit.  

Cal Wilcox has played the bulk of time in between the pipes. He brings in a 3.53 GAA and .904 save percentage into Friday's action. 

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England is on a three-game skid to head into the action 4-7-0 overall. Half of the Golden Bears wins have come in CCC play (2-6-0), both of which were over Wentworth.  

WNE's offense is very similar to Suffolk with 26 goals over 11 games. Shane Miller is a constant on the offensive end with 12 points on two goals and a team-high 10 assists. Sam Mitchell and Lliam Christiano are the biggest scoring threats with five goals apiece. Mitchell has three goals on his stat line as well, while Christiano has set-up two shots. 

Colten Lancaster has played most of the time in net. He has built a 3.42 GAA and .917 save percentage for a 3-4-0 record. Anthony Aureliano, meanwhile, is 1-3-0 on the year with a 4.05 GAA and .905 save percentage. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2000, Suffolk is 20-13-3 all-time against Western New England. 
  • The Rams have won two straight against the Golden Bears including a 5-0 shutout in the last meeting, Nov. 18, 2017. 
  • There have only been two cleansheets in the all-time series. Suffolk owns both of those battles. 
  • Suffolk is 9-6-1 when hosting WNE.
