Senior Tim Benedetto (Peabody, Mass.) was named ECAC Northeast Hockey Player of the Week on Monday November 17.

Benedetto scored the game winning goal last Wednesday with fifty seconds remaining in overtime to propel Suffolk to a 2-1 victory over Johnson & Wales University in ECAC Northeast conference action.

Wednesday's victory was Suffolk's third in as many games as they closed out the week with a 3-1 win over Western New England University to improve to a 4-0-0 start to the 2014-15 season.

In four games on the season, Benedetto has scored just the one goal but has been a solid two-way forward as Suffolk has allowed just six goals on the year in four games, the lowest total in the league. Benedetto has also been solid on the penalty kill as Suffolk has only allowed two power play goals in 22 short handed situations.

Benedetto was also named a second team All-Conference selection by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for Men's Golf this past fall season.

Suffolk will be back in action again on Wednesday evening as they travel to Nichols College for an 8:00pm faceoff time with the Bison.

The Rams will be back at home next Saturday, November 22 as past of "Gold Rush" Night when they host Becker College. Those in attendance will receive a free gold Suffolk University Athletics t-shirt. The game will be played at the Charlestown DCR Rink with a faceoff time of 7:10pm.
