Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Hartford Hawks Invitational

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Suffolk men's golf turned in a fifth-place performance at the Hartford Hawks Invitational over the weekend at the Tumble Brook Country Club.  

The Rams compiled a two-day, 36-hole card of 662 (+86) to take fifth in the seven-team field ahead of American International (666) and Wentworth (704). Hartford won the meet with a 600, while New Haven (629) and Eastern Connecticut State (636) placed second and third, respectively. Gordon was in the field as well and shot a 644 to claim fourth. 

Every Suffolk golfer improved on their day one performance and moved up in the rankings.  

Vijay Sakuru had the best individual showing in 21st with a two-day card of 163. He shot 85 on Friday and shaved seven strokes off that performance on Saturday. 

Cameron Sinopoli took 24th with a 165 and his brother, Christopher Sinopoli, was one stroke behind him in 27th.  

Jake Zirklin claimed 30th with a 168 and Ryan Mollica rounded out the Rams on the course in Connecticut with a 173, good for 36th in the 45-golfer field. 

Suffolk has one final weekend of action left this spring, April 20-21. The Rams will first compete in the Gordon College Shootout at the Wenham Golf Club Friday, before concluding its 2023-24 campaign Saturday at the RWU Invitational at the Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
