Men’s Golf Finishes 12th at Bill Detrick Invitational

HARTFORD, Conn.– Suffolk men's golf opened its 2024 spring scheduled with a 12th-place performance at the Bill Detrick Invitational over the weekend at Keney Park Golf Course.  

The Rams shot a 620 over 36-holes to take 12th in the 15-team field ahead of Springfield (626), Albertus Magnus (651) and Western New England (655). 

Trinity, who hosted the two-day tournament, won the invitational with a team card of 585. Hartford was four strokes behind the Bantams in second and Williams and Bowdoin shared third with a 590. 

 Jake Zirlin shined for Suffolk individually as he tied for seventh in the 81-golfer field. The junior finished the 36-holes with a plus-6 over the 140-par.  

Ryan Mollica shared 44th with a 153. Vijay Sakuru finished 60th with a 158.  

Cameron Sinopoli (163) and Christopher Sinopoli (177) claimed 69th and 79th, respectively.  

Suffolk is back in action next weekend, April 12-13, at the Hartford Spring Invitational at the Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
