THE COURSE
Designed by Mungeam Cornish Golf Design of Douglas, Massachusetts, the Highfields Golf & Country Club has 18 distinctive holes that meander through natural wooded areas, open land and wetlands. The CCC Championship will be played off the Black Tees comprised of a par-72, 6,655 yard course in Grafton, Massachusetts.

THE COMPETITION
All nine CCC members that sponsor men's golf will compete in the championship. In year two of its NCAA Provisional Process, Hartford is eligible to compete, but not score in the championship, leaving just eight teams eligible for the team title in 2022 Champ Endicott, last year's runner-up Nichols, Gordon, Roger Williams, host Wentworth, Western New England, the University of New England and the Rams.

Players will compete in threesomes and the randomly-determined pairings for round one on Thursday are:

  • Hartford, UNE, Roger Williams
  • Suffolk, Nichols, Wentworth
  • Gordon, Western New England, Endicott

SUFFOLK AT CCC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Rams played for their first CCC title in April 2021, the last time the conference did not have a fall qualifying event and all league teams competed for the conference crown. That year, Suffolk finished seventh in the eight-team field.

The next two seasons, Suffolk secured its spot in the CCC Championships by qualifying in the fall tournament. In 2022, the Rams secured third at the championships and last year the blue-and-gold placed fourth.

Mauro Stanchieri put together the best individual performance of a Ram at the CCC Championship with a fifth-place performance in 2022. He shot a 153. A year later, Cameron Sinopoli shot a 153 as well to be the second-ever Suffolk golfer to put together a top-10 finish at the league meet with a seventh-place performance.

WHAT'S UP FOR GRABS?
The winner of the 36-hole championship event will be named the 2023 CCC Golf Champion and earn the league's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, which is scheduled to take place May 14-17, 2024 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
