Men’s Golf Takes Ninth at NEIGAs

BREWSTER, Mass. – For the second straight season, Suffolk men's golf finished ninth at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships over the weekend.  

The Rams combined for a two-day card of 626 at The Captains Golf Course to take ninth in the 20-team field. It is the first time Suffolk had back-to-back top-10 finishes at the regional event in program history. After the first day on the green, the blue-and-gold sat in sixth with a 310. Suffolk added six strokes to its score on Sunday to drop three spots to ninth.  

Jake Zirlin shared 14th. The junior sat in a tie for 40th after the first day with an 80 and improved on that score by seven strokes on day to to finish just 9 over par (144). 

Junior Jonathan Donovan shared 29th at his first NEIGAs thanks to a two-day card of 156, while senior Vijay Sakuru tied for 39th with a 158.  

The Sinopoli brothers, Christopher and Cameron, rounded out the Rams on the course. Christopher Sinopoli shared 47th with a 161 and Cameron Sinopoli teid for 63rd with a 166. 

The regional tournament served as final prep for Suffolk before the 2023 CCC Championship, which tees of Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Highfield Golf Club in Grafton, Massachusetts.
