BOSTON – The Suffolk men's golf team and its conference counterparts will converge on the Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Thursday, Sept. 29 for the CCC Qualifier. With spots at the 2023 CCC Championship is on the line, action will begin at 11:30 a.m.

ABOUT THE CCC QUALIFER
The CCC hosted a qualifier for its league-wide outing since 2011-12 when the event was still an invitational. Men's Golf was elevated to championship status in 2013-14 and the CCC was granted an automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament that year.

This fall will be the second time in as many years that the Rams compete in the conference's qualifier. A year ago, Suffolk's squad earned the fourth and final spot in the CCC Championship.

The winner of the event earns the right to host the CCC Championship this spring and will feature the top four finishers from this Thursday's action. 

RAMS IN THE CCC QUALIFER

• Suffolk participated in the CCC Qualifier for the first time in program history last season.
• The Rams performed how they needed to seal their spot in the conference championship with a fourth-place performance.
• Individually, Mauro Stanchieri finished in a tie for fourth with a +6, 78.
• Cameron Sinopoli and Jake Zirlin participated in the event a year ago as well.
• Vijay Sakuru and Christopher Sinopoli will don the blue-and-gold at the CCC Qualifier event for the first time in their collegiate careers.

THE COURSE
The Green Valley Country Club is an 18-hole championship course, located in picturesque Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The CCC Qualifier will take place on the men's blue 6,641 yard, par-71 course. 

TEE TIMES
Action will begin at 11:30 a.m. via shotgun start. Suffolk's golfers will first be featured in the 12:18 p.m. group with a Ram in the next four group starting every eight minutes until 12:50 p.m.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has improved individually and as a team through just two competitions thus far this season.

Mauro Stanchieri has proven to be the Rams number one, leading the way in each outing so far including a share of the individual title at the Bowdoin Invitational last weekend.

Jake Zirlin and Vijay Sakuru both shot the best 18 of their collegiate careers in Vacation Land with a three over par (75) at the Brunswick Golf Club.

LAST TIME OUT
Paced by one of the best individual performances by a Rams golfer in recent history, Suffolk men's golf turned in an eighth-place performance at the Bowdoin Invitational over the weekend at the Brunswick Golf Club.
