HYDE PARK, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf lifted the lid on the spring portion of its 2021-22 schedule with a victory against Wentworth in a head-to-head match Thursday afternoon at the George Wright Golf Course. The Rams downed the Leopards, 408-419.

Three blue-and-gold golfers finished in the top five pack to push Suffolk to victory in its first head-to-head match since September 29, 2016 when it handily defeated Eastern Nazarene in a dual, 324-428 at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham, Massachusetts.

Vijay Sakuru shined in his Suffolk debut. The sophomore topped the dozen-golfer field with a plus-four over the 70-par course. Mauro Stanchieri was four strokes behind his classmate to share third with WIT's Ben Wright. Fellow sophomore Cameron Sinopoli captured fifth with a score of 80.

Nicholas Kirby and Chris Talbot, who made his blue-and-gold debut, tied for seventh as the junior and sophomore each shot an 88.

Sophomore Dylan Heim rounded out the Rams on the green with a 95, good for a share of 11th.
