Men’s Golf Closes Fall Slate at NEIGA Championships

BREWSTER, Mass.  – Suffolk men's golf capped off its 2021 schedule at the 86th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) at the Captains Golf Course. The Rams turned in a 14th place performance.  

The blue-and-gold combined for a team total of 704 with a 347 day-one Port Course total combined with a 357 Port Course card to claim 14th in the 16-team field. No. 9 Babson took home the title with an impressive team score of 591, 38 strokes ahead of runner-up Husson. 

Freshman Mauro Stanchieri led the way for the Rams as the freshman was 16 over the 144-par with a 160 to finish in the first quarter of the 80-golfer field. 

Sophomore captain Cameron Sinopoli placed in sole possession of 69th with a 179 and junior Nicholas Kirby was eight strokes behind him to claim 72nd. 

Sophomore Dylan Heim rounded out the Rams who provided to the team score card with 205, which was good for 77th.

Freshman Jake Zirlin shot an 80 on the first day on the green, but did not complete the tournament. 

With the fall season wrapped, Suffolk will rest until the 2022 spring slate, which will be announced in the New Year.
