Men’s Golf Takes Seventh at Blazers Invitational 

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf put together a seventh-place showing at the Blazers Invitational at the Cold Springs Country Club over the weekend. 

The Rams shot a 341 on day one in Belchertown, Massachusetts, before improving that score on the second day of the course with a 330 card to finish with a 641 overall, good for seven in the 14-team field.  

Individually Mauro Stanchieri had the top outing. The Rams' rookie shot a 77 (+6) on the first day and an 80 on day two to finish with a 157 (+15), good for a share of 14th in the 69-golfer field. He was the second-best Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) student-athlete to participate behind Gordon's graduate student Karsten Lusk, who claimed a share of fifth with a 153 (+11). 

Cameron Sinopoli took a spot within the top 25 as well. The sophomore captain shot a 163 (+21) over the two days to share 23rd. 

Jake Zirlin's 172 was good for sole possession of 38th, while Nicholas Kirby's 179 was good for a tie of 45th. 

Dylan Heim rounded out the Rams on the course with a card of 209, good for 61st. 

Suffolk turns its attention to its last event of the fall, the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships set to tee off this weekend, Oct. 16-18, at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
