Men’s Golf Takes Seventh at CCC Championships

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf was the first Rams' team to compete for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship. The blue-and-gold finished seventh in the eight-team over Sunday and Monday at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club.

Suffolk's combined card read 676 after the two-day event, which saw Western New England take home the title behind a team score of 621. Endicott was five strokes behind for second place with Nichols' 634 good for third.

Individually Pablo Bedoya Montero paced the Rams' pack. The freshman hit an 81 on day one on the green, just one stroke shy of his mark set at the Endicott Invitational a week prior. The next day, Bedoya Montero did even better shooting just nine over par to finish the two-day outing with a 160, good for a share of 12th in the 39-golfer field. He was the only Suffolk student-athlete to finish in the top-15.

Beoyda Montero's classmate Cameron Sinopoli hit an 87 on day one and shaved seven strokes off that on the second day out on the links to finish with a 167. Sinopolli's score put the freshman in a tie for 22nd with Endicott's Ronan Lucey.

William Bannon rounded out his Suffolk career with a 173, to claim 30th, while James Ventre shot a 176 to share 33rd. Liam Nye also took the course in Beverly and shot a 205.

The championship completed the Rams' 2021 abbreviated season.
