Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Season-Opening Suffolk Invite

HYDE PARK, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf took the links for the first time since October 20, 2019 in its own invitational, the Suffolk Invite, Thursday, April 8. The Rams finished third in the three-team field at George Wright Golf Club.

Just eight points separated the teams in position with the University of New England capturing the crown behind a team card of 341. Wentworth slid into second one stroke behind the Nor' Easters with a 342, while the Rams rounded out the CCC golfers on the course with a combined 349.

Individually, it was a blue-and-gold club that shot the best. In his collegiate debut, Cameron Sinopoli of Marlborough, Massachusetts captured individual medalist honors on the par-70 track with a score of 80. Sinopoli was the only Ram to find a place in the top five.

Senior William Bannon, who competed for the first time since Sept. 27, 2017, shot 89 to share eighth place along with his teammate Pablo Bedoya Montero and foes from both UNE and Wentworth.

Sophomores James Ventre and Jared Sylvester posted a 91 and 121, respectively.

Suffolk is back in action on Tuesday, April 12 when it travels to the Beverly Golf Club for the Endicott Invitational.
