Men’s Golf Wins Emmanuel Invitational

BOSTON – The Suffolk men's golf team recorded its first victory of 2017, taking the title at the Emmanuel Invitational at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park Wednesday afternoon.

The Rams took the quad-match, which was only played on a 17-hole course, by a two-stroke margin. Suffolk's 311 was good enough for first with Emmanuel and Elms right behind with each team combing for 313 apiece.

The saints' Dave Bryne took home first individually with a 73, while a trio of Rams tied for second all recording 75. Owen Boggini and Patrick Hennessy had identical score cards with a 35 on the front-eight and a 40 on the back nine. Ferrante, meanwhile, put together a 36 to open the day and a 39 to finish.

Alex Sarkis' 86 placed fourth for Suffolk with Billy Bannon also taking the course for the blue and gold, shooting an 89.

Suffolk takes the weekend off before it heads out for its first two-day event of the season. The Rams are set for the Blazers Invitational Oct. 8-9 at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Massachusetts.
