Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Blazers Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – In its first two-day competition of 2016, the Suffolk men's golf team placed eighth overall the Blazer Fall Invitational hosted by Elms College at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club. 

The Rams carded a team score of 349 over the final 18 holes, paired with a 343 in the first round to finish with a combined 692 for eight place in the 10 team event. Patrick Hambleton, Andrew Harper, Owen Boggini, Demetrois Stamouli and Stephen Ferrante competed for Suffolk with Hambleton leading the pack. 

Hambleton was off to a fast start on the par-72, 6,704-yard course, putting up a +10 on day one. In the second round, the senior fired an 88 for a total of 170, which put him in 30. 

Harper finished with identical stokers of Daniel Webster's Rich Easton, carding 172 (+28) each to tie for 32nd. Boggini was also tied with an Eagle as the freshman tallied a 176. 

Stamoulis finished two strokes behind his teammate for 37th (178) as his best 18 holes came on the second day of competition when he posted an 81. Ferrante put together a 92 each day on the green to finish 39th and found out Suffolk's golfers. 

The Rams return to action when they compete in a head-to-head at Eastern Nazarene Thursday, Sept. 29.
