AUTUMN ACHIEVEMENTS

In its fall 2015 competitions, Suffolk placed 5th overall at the Newbury College Nighthawk Invitational, 16th overall at the Blazer Fall Invitational, and came in 3rd at the Saints Invitational. The Rams turned in back-to-back 8th place finishes at both the GNAC and ECAC Championships before finishing 19th at the NEIGA Championships, held at Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.

LAST TIME OUT AT THE ANCHORMEN INVITE

Suffolk placed 13th overall at the RIC Invitational in 2015 and left with a 12th place finish in 2014 after placing ninth in 2013.  The Rams will be in pursuit of their first Spring Series championship, determined by the cumulative team score from three April tournaments, starting with this weekend's competition at Rhode Island.

THE COURSE

The Rhode Island College Anchormen Invitational is held annually at the Valley Country Club in Warwick, Rhode Island. The Valley Country Club features an 18 hole, par 72 course with challenging greens, pristine fairways, 51 bunkers and 3 water holes on the tree-lined course.

The country club was first built in 1925 as a nine hole course before it was extended to its current 18 hole layout in 1964. The original holes, 1,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 18 all feature smallish greens while the new nine 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 feature larger sloping greens.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Suffolk will compete in the second of its three spring tournaments next weekend as it travels to Allendale Country Club in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts to plat at the 2016 Westport Hampton Inn Spring Invitational, hosted by the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs.
