RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk is in the midst of its third straight appearance in the CCC Tournament.
  • The Rams third CCC Tournament trip marks the 19th overall and 11th straight conference postseason run for the blue-and-gold.
  • The Rams are the sixth seed in the conference postseason for the first time since 2017-18.
  • Over its 18 conference tournament appearances, Suffolk has advanced to the semifinals six times and the title tilt twice, including this season.
  • Suffolk advanced to the CCC Championship for the first time.
  • The Rams have made a conference title game once, in 2002 when it hoisted the GNAC crown, its lone conference championship.
  • Suffolk play for a league championship in a true road game for the first time in program history. The last time the Rams competed for a conference crown was on a neutral hardwood.
  • On the road, Suffolk is 2-2 in the CCC Tournament.
  • Suffolk is 2-4 in a conference semifinal with its second-ever win coming this year over Western New England.
  • It is the second time in program history that Suffolk advanced to the league semifinals as the sixth seed, first since 2017-18. Both semifinal trips as the sixth seed have come in the Jeff Juron era.
  • Under Juron's guidance, Suffolk is 4-7 in the postseason and 3-2 in the CCC Tournament.
  • The Rams needed overtime to decide a winner in a postseason contest for the first time in Tuesday's CCC First Round battle at third-seed Endicott. Suffolk won that tangle, 80-79.

LAST TIME OUT
For the second time in program history, Suffolk men's basketball sealed its spot in a conference championship contest as the sixth-seeded Rams upset second-seed Western New England, 74-63, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinals Thursday at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk (15-11) has gone on a road upset tour to reach the CCC Championship for the first time as the Rams took down third seed Endicott in overtime, 80-79, before handling second seed Western New England, 74-63, in the semis.

Throughout the season the trio of Keenan Robertson (17.2 ppg), Evan Cook (14.9 ppg) and Danny Yardemian(13.9 ppg) have powered Suffolk's 75.3 ppg offense. Cole LeVangie has found his grove as of late from 3-point range, shooting 61.7 percent (29-47) over the last six games including a 72.7 conversion rate (8-11) in the CCC Tournament. The junior sharpshooter pitches in 8.3 ppg.

Robertson grabs a team-best 6.4 rpg to anchor the blue-and-gold's 37.2 rpg effort. Yardemian adds 5.4 rpg and LeVangie pulls down 5.1 rpg. Suffolk's opponents have 13.3 turnovers per game and the Rams defense limits their foes to 73.8 ppg.

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HAWKS
Like Suffolk, Roger Williams (13-14) had to battle on the road to get to the CCC title tilt. The fifth-seeded Hawks downed fourth seed Wentworth, 84-74, in the first round, before dethroning six-time CCC defending champ Nichols in the semis, 86-80.

The Hawks' 80.9 ppg is controlled by Mac Annus' 20.7 ppg. John Ah Kao and Finn Miller supply 14.7 ppg and 11.8 ppg, respectively.

Miller is the top factor on the glass with 7.2 rpg. Philip Sughrue adds 4.2 rpg and Sean Gogolin notches 4.1 rpg. As a team, RWU has 33.5 rpg to its credit, with its foes holding a 5.0 rpg margin.
