BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball turns its attention to the postseason as the Rams sealed up the sixth spot in the 2024 Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Basketball tournament.

Jeff Juron's Rams put together an 8-8 CCC record to finish in a tie for fifth with Roger Williams. The Hawks took the tiebreaker. The teams split their head-to-head matchups, which offered no resolution, so the second step, a comparison of the teams' results against other conference opponents in rank order came into the picture. Thanks to its 90-79 win over second seed Western New England in November, RWU edged out the blue-and-gold for fifth.  

Suffolk enters the CCC field as the sixth seed for the first time. 

As the sixth seed, Suffolk takes its talents to Beverly, Massachusetts, to face third seed Endicott in the first round Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. The winners will advance to the semifinals and face the victor of the No. 7 Curry at No. 2 WNE tangle.  

The Suffolk, Endicott series dates back to 2018. The Rams are 5-5 all-time against the Gulls with all 10 meetings occurring with Juron on the bench. The blue-and-gold is 4-1 versus Endicott in Boston and 1-3 against the Gulls in Beverly, with its only victory on the North Shore coming earlier this season, 70-69, Jan. 27, 2024. The foes will meet in the postseason for the second time, first since the 2022 CCC Quarterfinals, which Suffolk won in Title Town, 75-73. Tuesday's first round matchup will be the first postseason road battle between the conference counterparts.

Suffolk's third trip to the CCC postseason marks the Rams' 19th overall and 11th straight conference tournament appearance. 

Over its 18 conference tournament appearances, Suffolk has advanced to the semifinals five times, with the last coming two years ago. The Rams have gone onto the championship contest once when it hoisted the GNAC trophy in 2002. Overall in the CCC tournament, Suffolk is 1-2.
