BIDDEFORD, Maine – In a game that featured nine lead changes and six ties, Suffolk men's basketball came out on the wrong side of a 73-70 decision versus the University of New England Wednesday night at Harold Alfond Forum.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 70 | University of New England 73
RECORDS: Suffolk (12-11, 7-8 CCC) | University of New England (7-17, 2-14 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Cole LeVangie and Keenan Robertson controlled Suffolk's scoring in the first 5:30 minutes to give the Rams a 14-6 early edge. LeVangie was responsible for six points, while Robertson provided eighth.

The Nor'Easters stormed back behind a 17-2 run to put the blue-and-gold in a 23-19 hole with 5:17 remaining in the first half.

LeVangie's third trifecta of the night ignited a Suffolk shooting show from 3-point land as the Rams compiled an 11-2 run to regain the advantage, 30-25, which force UNE to take a timeout with 2:29 on the clock. That Suffolk stretch featured a trey from LeVangie and two by Evan Cook.

The Nor'Easters outscored Suffolk 6-3 out of the huddle to end the half. Thanks to Cook's third triple of the night in that span, the blue-and-gold took a 33-31 cushion into the locker room.

In the first 12 minutes of the second half the playing field leveled five times and the lead switched seven. UNE broke the 57-all game with 7-2 run to take a 64-59 lead into a timeout at the 6:27 mark.

The Rams remained in a five-point hole as the host used another time with 3:27 left on the clock and again when Suffolk used a timeout with 1:38 to go.

Out of the huddle, LeVangie knocked down his sixth 3-pointer of the night to slice the gap to two, 72-70, with one minute to play.

Suffolk had four chances over the final 60 seconds to level the playing field and grab the win, but all shots were off the mark and UNE walked away with the victory.
