Men’s Basketball Selected Fourth in CCC Preseason Poll

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk men's basketball has been predicted to finish fourth in the CCC according to the league's preseason poll, the conference office announced Wednesday.

The league's nine head coaches projected the Rams to finish with home court advantage in the conference's postseason as the blue-and-gold picked up 47 points.

The fourth-place forecast is a first for Suffolk in its CCC tenure and comes after the 2022-23 squad compiled a 16-10 overall mark and a 11-7 league ledger.

Nichols, who advanced to the NCAA Section Finals a year ago, is predicted to repeat as CCC Champions yet again as it sat atop the poll with 79 points. The Bison were a near unanimous first-place selection, collecting all, but one first place vote. The lone remaining vote went to Western New England, who slid into second with 73 points. Endicott completed the top three with 63 points.

Wentworth (45), Roger Williams (39), Gordon (29), Curry (19) and University of New England (11) completed the poll.

A trio of everyday contributors are back in Suffolk blue-and-gold led by All-CCC First-Team honoree Keenan Robertson, who powered the Rams' scoring with 19.2 points per game. Cole LeVangie (11.0 ppg) and Jake Gomez (6.1 ppg) return for the Rams as well as Liam CunnieDevin DzikasJack McDonnellKyle Phillips and Connor Strickladn. The returners will be joined by a heap of newcomers to add depth to Suffolk's bench.

The 2023-24 season is set to get underway tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Eastern Nazarene at 7:00 p.m.
