BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball returns to Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Wednesday, Nov. 29 when it welcomes Western New England for the 2022-23 Commonwealth Coast Conference opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Suffolk men's basketball suffered its first setback of the season as the Rams dropped its battle of the Boston Commons to Emerson, 55-51, Tuesday after Brown & Plofker Gym.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk (3-1) dropped its pre-Thanksgiving tune-up at Emerson, 55-51, to suffer its first setback of the season.  

The Rams' 76.8 offensive output sees three different players average double figures in scoring in Keenan Robertson(21.5 ppg), Aidan Sullivan (12.8 ppg) and Cole LeVangie (11.8 ppg). Robertson's 9.0 rpg leads the blue-and-gold's 41.8 rpg effort that receives 5.5 rpg from William Rowe

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England started the year with three wins in a row, but has fallen in back-to-back outings, against then-No. 20 Rensselaer (76-69) and at Worcester State (70-64) to bring a 3-2 record to Boston.  

Jake Harrison leads the Golden Bears on both ends of the hardwood with 18.8 ppg and 9.8 rpg. Tim Restall sits second in both categories with 18.2 ppg and 8.2 rpg. Gavin Green is a constant in the scoring conversation as well with 10.4 ppg. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is 9-15 all-time against Western New England. 
  • The Rams split their series with the Golden Bears last year with a 100-62-win Dec. 4, 2021 and an 88-81 overtime setback Jan. 22, 2022.

LEAGUE DEBUTS

  • The Rams are 13-9 in their first league contest of the year; 12-9 in the GNAC, 1-0 in the CCC. 
  • Suffolk has started its conference calendar in the win column in each of the last four seasons. 
  • The Rams will begin their league campaign at home for the first time since 2018-19.
  • The blue-and-gold is 4-2 in its league debut under Jeff Juron's guidance.
