UNE Trips Up Men’s Basketball, 69-60

BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball could not hang onto its halftime lead as the University of New England surged in the second half to take down the Rams, 69-60, Tuesday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) battle.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 60 | University of New England 69
RECORDS: Suffolk (12-7, 7-6 CCC) | University of New England (5-17, 4-11 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk stormed out to a 20-6 lead that turned into a 38-26 halftime advantage. The Nor'Easters barreled back by outscoring the Rams 8-1 in the first five minutes out of the locker room to make it a one-point game, 39-38.

Conor Creane kept Suffolk ahead with a triple and a pair of freebies until Alex Kravchuk knocked down a trey to give UNE's its first lead of the evening, 46-45, at the 12:04 mark.

Kravchuk's triple ignited a Nor'Easters' 11-0 run that put the visitors in front by nine with 9:13 left on the clock.

The Rams attempted a comeback, however, their hoops were too spaced out and UNE showed composure down the stretch, especially when the blue-and-gold put on full-court pressure with two minutes to play, to preserve the victory.
