BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball looks to snap its two-game skid Tuesday, Jan. 24 when it welcomes Gordon to Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a 7:30 p.m. Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) outing.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's basketball forced overtime, however, the Rams went cold in the extra session and Western New England took advantage to take an 88-81 win over the blue-and-gold Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has dropped its last two games to move to 11-4 on the year and 6-3 in CCC action. 

Despite the setbacks, the Rams offense is pouring in 87.1 ppg on a 50.0 connection rate from the field, which includes a 41.2 conversion rate from 3-point land. Five different players average double figures in Nate Hale (19.7), Aidan Sullivan (12.9), William Rowe (11.5), John Gates (10.8) and Keenan Robertson (10.5). 

Robertson's 7.0 rpg leads the blue-and-gold's 37.3 rpg effort with Rowe supplying 6.5 rpg. 

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon fell at Endicott, 61-53, Saturday to enter Tuesday's tilt 7-8 overall and 4-6 in the CCC.  

A quartet of players are consistent contributors to Gordon's 76.3 points per outing offense. Michael Makiej leads the way with 13.6 ppt with Garrett Sattazah and Bryce Smith second on the squad with 13.4 ppg apiece. Parker Omslaer rounds out the foursome with 11.3 ppg.  

On the defensive side of play, Omslaer leads the way with 7.3 rpg to pace the Fighting Scot's 42.3 rpg. Makiejchips in 6.9 rpg and David Massillon is a threat on the glass as well with 6.7 rpg.

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk men's basketball bounced back quite nicely as four different Rams provided double figures in an 111-99 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) win over Gordon Thursday night at the Bennett Center.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, Gordon series dates back to 1967-68. 
  • Suffolk is 12-7 all-time against the Fighting Scots. 
  • Prior to 1977, the location of the contests between the Rams and Fighting Scots is unknown. In those meetings and in the 1981 battle, Suffolk is 5-5. 
  • As the home team, the blue-and-gold holds a 2-1 record. 
  • When playing on the road, the rams are 5-0 against the Fighting Scots. 
  • The Rams are 2-1 versus Gordon in the Jeff Juron era.
