Men’s Basketball Handles Curry, 105-53, Off To Best Start in 42 Years

BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball poured in the points with five different Rams in double figures to take down Curry, 105-53, Saturday afternoon at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. The win moves the blue-and-gold to 5-1 on the year, which marks the best record through six games since the 1977-78 season.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 105 | Curry 53
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-1) | Curry (0-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk jumped out to a 9-2 edge that quickly faded to a 13-8 gap five minutes in. Following their own timeout, the Rams rattled off 14 unanswered points to make things lopsided, 27-8, in their own favor. The Colonels kept things interesting though and that 19-point advantage dwindled down to 11, 27-16, with just under eight minutes remaining in the first frame.

The teams traded hoops and Jayquan Leonard's hoop at the 6:22 minute mark would be the Colonels last in the opening half as Suffolk sailed the rest of the way with 22 consecutive points for the 52-18 halftime cushion.

From the intermission, Suffolk stretched its lead to 50, 81-31. The Rams essentially put the game away in the first 7:30 minutes of the second half as their advantage continued to grow the rest of the way for the final 105-53 margin.
