BOSTON – Coming off an opening weekend in which it averaged 107.0 points per game, Suffolk men's basketball aims to keep momentum in its favor when it takes on Endicott in a home-and-home series. The Rams will first entertain the Gulls at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m., before traveling to Beverly, Massachusetts, the next day, Sunday, March 7 for a 12 p.m. tip-off.

LAST TIME OUT
In its first home game in over a year, Suffolk men's basketball shot lights out, striking 20 three-pointers as a team, to claim a decisive 117-96 victory over Nichols Feb. 27 at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

Missed any of Suffolk's action last weekend against Nichols. Here is your chance to catch some highlights. 

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk put on a shooting show in its two-game, season-opening series with Nichols last weekend. The 2-0 Rams poured in the points, averaging 107 points per game. The blue-and-gold capped off the home-and-home with a 117-96 victory against the Bison, marking the most points Suffolk scored since 1994. 

Suffolk's seniors lead the charge with Nate Hale and Alex Jacovides each providing 30-plus point performances. Hale's 28.0 ppg paces the Rams offensive output, while Jacovides' 21.5 ppg is closely in second. Both guards are shooting over 50.0 percent from the floor and from three-point range. 

Jacovides' 11.0 rpg anchor the Rams 40.0 caroms per outing. Brendan Mulson, who adds 17.0 ppg to the offensive end, has contributed 8.0 rpg to the defensive unit.

NATIONAL RANKS
After its two-game, opening-weekend, Suffolk sits in the top five in the NCAA Division III in multiple statistically categories as a squad.

 Individually Nate Hale is tied for second in the nation in points per game with his 28.0 ppg effort. The senior from Nashua, New Hampshire, shares the top spot for free throw percentage, making all six of his freebie attempts

Alex Jacovides and William Rowe join Hale in the national ranks as well.

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott made a CCC championship run a year ago, but fell short, to finish the season, 19-8 overall and 12-4 versus conference foes. 

Matt McDevitt is the returning force on both ends of the hardwood for the Gulls. The senior forward sat second on the squad in both scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounding (6.5 rpg). Jalen Echevarria, who was third in offensive output last season with 15.2 ppg, is also back, as well as Billy Areseneault, who recorded 9.5 ppg and a team-high 2.2 apg.

  • The Suffolk, Endicott series is fairly new, starting in 2018-19.
