HOW IT HAPPENED
Dingers did damage for both sides early on which saw Endicott with a 6-4 edge with three innings in the books. Suffolk started from the get-go- when Joe Ward and Harry Painter barreled back-to-back bombs. Ward slugged a three-run shot to right, while Painter place a jack to center. Christian Seariac and Garret Roberts, who each singled, came in on Ward's first four-bagger.

Kyle Grabowski's three-run jack to left center in the home half of the inning brought the Gulls within one of the Rams, 4-3.

After a scoreless second, Nicolas Notarange got in on the home run game with a three-run blast to push Endicott ahead, 6-4. The host added an additional tally in the third when Dylan Pacheco got in a run-down between first and second, Nickolas Perkins, who was waiting on the third, sauntered in to put the Rams in three-run hole.

John Mulready blasted a solo shot to start the fourth and just like that the distance was doubled, 8-4.

Ward went long for the second time on the day with a lead off shot to start the sixth and pull Suffolk back within three. A pair of errors by Endicott's second baseman Pacheco allowed the inning to stay alive. With Harder on second due to the fielding miscues, Blase Cormier brought him in with a single to left center. The first Rams non-extra base hit RBI of the day helped the blue-and-gold get back within two, 8-6.

Jonny Gilbride joined the long-ball gang with a lead-off goner in the seventh. The Rams fourth dinger of the day made it a one-run game, which Michael James Jr. preserved in the bottom of the inning. The reliever retired the side with two consecutive punchouts to end the inning and keep Suffolk within one, 8-7.

Max Tarlin had a shutdown inning for the Gulls to hold his team in front before insurance came for the home team in the bottom of the eight. Mulready's second homer of the day came in the form of a three-run jack, and Caleb Shpur's two-run no-doubter down the left field line, padded Endicott's advantage to 13-7.

Tarlin took care of business in the ninth as he retired the Rams in order and sealed Suffolk's setback fate.
