Baseball Snaps Streak with Game Two Bounce Back at Endicott, 14-9

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk baseball erased a three-game losing streak with a 14-9 game-two win at Endicott Sunday afternoon at North Field.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 14 | Endicott 9
RECORDS: Suffolk (7-8) | Endicott (10-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk's offense started early as two runs were on the board in the top of the first. Tim Brigham hit into a fielder's choice to bring in Christian Seariac, who drew a base on balls to lead off the outing, before Rich Giandrea's base hit through the left side brought in Brigham to make it a 2-0 Rams ball game.

Two innings later, the Rams ran their advantage to seven. Timothy McCarthy knocked a two-out double donw the left field line that score Brigha, who singled up the middle. Suffok's scoring rally continued as an Endicott error allowed Giandrea to come home and extra base hits from Joe Rufo and Seariac stretched the advantage to 7-0. Rufo doubled down the left field line to plate both McCarthy and Christopher White, before Seariac's triple to center field allowed Rufo to come home.

Endicott managed to put two runs on the board in the home half of the third, but it was no match for Suffolk, who scored six more in the fourth. The Rams scored as many runs as they had hits in the fourth frame to make it a lopsided 13-2 game. Over that offensive output, Giandrea collected a pair of RBI on a single to right center, Seariac brought in one run with a single to short and Rich Gilbirde plated two runners with a double to left center.

Suffolk's scoring didn't stop there as McCarthy knocked a double to right center in the top of the seventh that scored Brandon Bukowski, who reached on a Gulls' mistake, to stretch the distance to 14-2.

Endicott made moves in the bottom of the seventh as it put up five runs and again in the eighth with two more Gulls coming in to trim the distance down to five, 14-9.

Casey Sullivan took care of business on the mound in the ninth to secure the triumph for Suffolk.
