Endicott Edges Baseball in Game Two, 5-2

BOSTON – Suffolk baseball's nightcap rebound did not come as Endicott used a four-run fifth frame to take down the Rams, 5-2, Saturday at East Boston Memorial Park

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2 | Endicott 5
RECORDS: Suffolk (6-7, 2-4 CCC) | Endicott (9-5, 7-3 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Endicott scored one run up in the first frame to put the Rams in an early hole.

Suffolk dug itself out in the second as Christian Seariac started things off with a triple to left field. Luke Harder's infield singled easily brought in Seariac to make it a new ball game.

The Gulls grabbed a multi-me margin in the fifth, which made Suffolk chase four, 5-1.

The Rams trimmed the deficit to three thanks to an Endicott error in the sixth. With the bases loaded, Shane Lake knocked a hard-hit ball to third. Kyle Graboswki looked to make the catch, but dropped the ball, and also missed a tag on the Rams' runner coming to the hot corner. The mishap allowed Blase Cormier, who reached on a fielder's choice, strut in to make it a 5-2 game.

A lead-off double from Seariac looked to get things going in the bottom of the eighth. The rest of the Rams around still couldn't figure Max Tarlin out though as the Gulls reliever sat down the next three hitters, all swinging, to keep Suffolk put.

Suffolk saw walk-off potential in the ninth as it had runners on first and second with two outs. Cormier brought the game-tying run to the plate and worked a long at bat. Once he made fair connection the first baseman hit a short fly ball to center field where J.P. Catellier's glove was waiting to end the inning and game.
