BOSTON – Suffolk baseball has a full weekend in store as the Rams are scheduled for a home-and-home series with Endicott. Suffolk will host the Gulls in a CCC double feature atEast Boston Memorial Park Saturday, April 17, before traveling to Beverly, Massachusetts the next day, Sunday, April 18 for a non-league twinbill. Both days have will begin with a seven-inning, game one at 12 p.m., with a nine-inning nightcap to follow.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk baseball's offense never got going, which led the Rams to fall to Salve Regina, 6-1, at Brother Michael Reynolds Field Wednesday afternoon.

RAMS RUNDOWN
After falling at Salve Regina Wednesday, Suffolk heads into the weekend 6-5 on the year and 2-2 in CCC contests. 

Tim Brigham and Blase Cormier are the most consistent at bat. Brigham has a team-high 14 hits with six RBI and runs scored, respectively. Cormier, meanwhile, has 12 hits, nine runs scored and four RBI. 

Parker Browne (17.0 IP, 5.29 ERA, 12 Ks) and Michael Muscarella (15.2 IP, 4.02 ERA, 15 Ks) are likely to start at least once this weekend. Steven Rossi (21.1 IP, 4.22 ERA, 21 Ks), who tossed 3.0 frames in the midweek outing in Newport, Rhode Island, could earn the nod either day as well. EJ Birch (8.2 IP, 2.08 ERA, 8 Ks) will be called upon in either a starting role or out of the pen.

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott went 3-1 last weekend against Gordon to head into the home-and-home with Suffolk 7-5 overall and 5-3 in CCC play. 

Caleb Shpur is an offensive leader for the Gulls with top team numbers in hits (17), RBI (14) and runs scored (14). Kyle Grabowski and Joseph Millar have each contributed 14 hits apiece with the latter hitting .452 on the year. Grabowski has brought in 11 runs, while Millar has scored 11.

Michael Kozlowski (18.2 IP, 3.38 ERA, 21 Ks), Ian Parent (10.1 IP, 5.23 ERA, 13 Ks) and Rian Schwede (13.0 IP, 6.92 ERA, 12 Ks) are likely to be in Endicott's weekend starting rotation. Kozlowski has earned the nod in four of his five appearances and brings in a 3-1-0 record.  

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk swept the first half of its four-game CCC series with Endicott. The Rams captured game one, 6-4, before clinging to a 5-4 victory in game two.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk swept Endicott in a doubleheader for the first time in program history to move to 13-17 all-time against the Gulls.
  • Suffolk will host Endicott at home for the first time since April 16, 2013.
  • The Rams are winless as the home team, 0-3.
  • Saturday's showdown will mark the first time Suffolk hosts Endicott with Anthony Del Prete as the coach.
  • All, but five games in the series have happened in Beverly, Massachusetts. Suffolk is 11-14 when playing on the Gulls field.
  • On neutral turf, Suffolk is unbeaten, 2-0.
  • In the Del Prete era, Suffolk is 6-8 versus the Gulls.
  • The Rams look to win three in a row versus Endicott for the first time under Del Prete's guidance and first time since stringing three wins in a row between April 22, 2004 to May 7, 2008. The three straight victories against the Gulls is the most in the all-time series.
