Browne Boosts Baseball Past Lasell, 3-0

EAST BOSTON – Parker Browne slung a complete-game, two-hit shutout to anchor Suffolk baseball to its first win of the 2021 season, a 3-0 decision over Lasell in game two of a double feature at East Boston Memorial Park.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 3 | Lasell 0
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-1) | Lasell (1-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED
After Browne took care of business in the top of the first Suffolk's scoring started in the home half of the inning. In his first at bat as a Ram, Christian Seariac sent a ball to the right field fence, turned on the wheels and hit every bag. The inside the park home run, Suffolk's second in as many games, gave the hosts a one-run edge.

A three-up, three-down inning for the Lasers was followed by another one-run stanza for Suffolk. This time a sac fly from Steven Shamnoski brought in Tim Brigham, who doubled to right field, to double up the distance, 2-0.

The Lasers threaten in the fifth frame. With one out Ross Auden struck a single through the right side. Mario Kiaunis knocked a single to the hot corner and Audet advance on the throw to put runners on the corner. Browne got out of the predicament with a stealth pick off of Kiaunis  at first to keep Lasell off the board.

Gino Desimone sent a ball over the fence in the bottom of the sixth to tack on an insurance run and add to Suffolk's lead, 3-0.

Browne bookend the game with two swinging strikeouts to lock up the victory.
